HEPA filters and activated carbon filters should be replaced after a short time of use. Photocatalytic ceramic filters, on the other hand, can be easily regenerated. We recommend two types of cleaning: standard cleaning and deep cleaning.

The ceramic filter does not accumulate pollutants, but reaction residues or dust may decrease its efficiency over time. We recommend standard cleaning once every 3 to 4 months, depending on the pollution in the environment in which it is used. Simply rinse the filter under warm running water and make sure it is completely dry before inserting it back into the device.

For more effective cleaning of the ceramic filter and to regain greater purification efficiency, we recommend placing it in a standard kitchen oven for 1-2 hours at 200°C. We recommend deep cleaning once or twice a year, depending on the pollution in environment in which it is used.

To extend the life of the pre-filter, simply rinse it or vacuum it to remove excess dust. If it is very damaged, it can be purchased again on our website at a low cost.

Tests were carried out both with inorganic pollutants such as NO_x, PM and VOCs and with microorganisms (Total Bioburden, E.coli, Coronavirus).

Not at all. Thanks to the work of our researchers, the Phoebe technology is activated by simple LED light in the visible spectrum. It is harmless to humans and does not produce ozone, unlike UV light-activated photocatalysis, which is harmful to the skin and eyes and produces ozone that is harmful to human health.

Please refer to the certification released by the external Eurofins Biolab laboratory on this page. The test was carried out on Bovine Coronavirus which has similar characteristics to the SARS-CoV-2 Coronavirus responsible for the COVID-19 pandemic. It has also been used by the WHO (download the study here) as a reference model for tests with virucidal formulations against various coronaviruses (MERS, SARS and others). The Phoebe technology was able to kill 99.9% of the virus.
